Members of the Crook County Rodders car club donated $400 to the Crook County High School forestry and natural resources program to go toward the purchase of a trailer or other necessary equipment for the wood mill.
Rodders had read in the Central Oregonian that the program could use a trailer to haul their equipment and decided they would lend a helping hand.
Rodders President Lynn Arnett and club member Tom Tomlinson were instrumental in raising money by collecting and recycling batteries from community members as well as one cash donation.
They recently presented the check to forestry/natural resources teacher Lisa Keown and three of her students.
The Rodders are raising more funds for the program by selling raffle tickets for a complete auto detail. To purchase tickets, contact Lynn Arnett at 541-610-8782. Tickets are $5 each or six for $25.
