I had the opportunity to take two students to the Central Section FFA Leadership Career Development Event yesterday. This is an event that students from the Central Oregon, Mt. Hood and Strawberry Mountain FFA Districts qualify to attend by placing at their respective district leadership events. Placing at this event qualifies FFA members for competition at the State FFA Convention.
Abby Papke competed in the Creed Speaking event and placed 4th yesterday, coming just short of qualifying for State. Still, very proud of her for a fantastic job.
Amy Desjardins placed second in the Job Interview CDE, and will be competing against 11 other members from across Oregon at our State FFA Convention later this month. Congratulations to her.
To recap our State Qualifiers:
Amy Desjardins – Job Interview, Equine Entrepreneurship Proficiency
Erin Bush – Beginning FFA Portfolio
Miranda Smith-Deboard – Diversified Livestock Proficiency
Hannah Worlein – State FFA Degree, Sheep Production Proficiency
Dusti Elliott – State FFA Degree
Anthony Puckett – State FFA Degree
It has been a good Winter for the Crook County FFA Chapter, and we hope to carry that success into the Spring.
Have a great day!
