Technical Design 1 | None | 9-12 | 1 semester | .05 | CTE, AA, EL |
Career Technical Education This course outlines principles of robotics and automation and CAD design. The class allows students to build upon computer 2-d and 3-d modeling skills. Students use CNC and rapid prototyping equipment to produce actual models of their two and three dimensional designs. Fundamental concepts of robotics used in automated manufacturing and design analysis are included. |

Manufacturing & Engineering Tech 1 |
None | 9-12 | 1 semester | 0.5 | CTE, AA, EL |
Manufacturing & Engineering Tech 1 is an exploratory course that introduces students to the basics of manufacturing. Through hands-on shop activities, students will learn how manufacturers use technology to change raw materials into finished products. Manufacturing materials include solid wood, wood composites and laminates. Concepts also covered in this class include design processes, properties of materials, safe use of tools and equipment, free enterprise, marketing principles and career exploration. |

Technical Design 2 | Technical Design 1 | 9-12 | 1 semester | 0.5 | CTE, AA, EL |
Technical Design 2 applies principles of robotics and automation, CAD design. The course builds on computer solid modeling skills developed in Technical Design 1. This course introduces students to the engineering design process and the properties of good design. Students will plan, complete and document a number of analysis-based designs. Student skills will be developed in the creation of memos, design reports and technical drawings using computer-aided design. This course content will be covered through a series of hands-on activities where students use CNC equipment to produce actual products from dimensional designs. |
