Members of the CCHS Future Natural Resource Leaders Club spent a recent school day restoring Lawson Creek on John and Lynne Breese’s Ranch. Crooked River Watershed Council Project Manager Mark Peterson and club leader Lisa Keown organized the field trip. It was a great opportunity for students to learn about different restoration techniques while also giving back to the community. In turn, the Crooked River Watershed Council will donate some funds to the FNRL Club. This was a real-life experience for the members of the club who acted as the contractor to plant a section of riparian zone just like a professional crew would have.
