CCHS junior earns perfect PSAT math score

Joey Stenbeck says he has always had a love for math. He is fascinated by patterns and the physical and abstract way math works. He attributes his fascination to always obtaining a thorough understanding of the material, rather than memorizing formulas by rote. The Crook County High School junior recently proved his understanding when he scored 100% on the math segment of the PSAT! He took the Preliminary SAT assessment last fall and scored 1350 out of 1520 – with a perfect 760 out of 760 on the math portion of the assessment. He plans to go to college after high school to get a degree in the STEM field. He credits CCHS math teacher Christine Kasberger for being instrumental in building his knowledge of mathematics. Joey was recognized during the school board meeting Monday evening. We wish Joey best of luck when he takes the SAT assessment in March.
