Fundraising within our Chapter

Daisy Forseth

Crook County FFA is lucky enough to work with different businesses within the agricultural field to benefit both their name and ours in fundraising. One of our annual fundraisers is selling Christmas trees. In the past year we had partnered with Green Valley Farm in Molalla, Oregon who had given us the chance to buy and resell their Christmas trees. The community that demands our Christmas trees is one of the main reasons to which this fundraiser is as successful as it has been in the past. In the past year, this fundraiser had given us a profit of $1980. Without the support of our community, this fundraiser would not be possible and we love to have the support that we do with this fundraiser as we love helping others to find a beautiful tree for their holiday season.

Another fundraiser that we participate in is fruit sales. We work with Walter Wells and Sons in Hood River, Oregon to have the options of selling both pears and apples. We sell these right before the holiday season, giving our customers the perfect chance to get fresh fruit for their holiday needs. We had great success with this fundraiser as we had made a profit of $1590. We also work with Crook County FFA Alumni to sell the potatoes grown at our land lab along with the fruit. With the help of alumni, we had sold 4373 pounds of potatoes which have given us a profit of $1093.25. We would not have the chance to sell these potatoes without the countless support from Crook County FFA Alumni.

This spring, we will once again be holding our annual plant sale.  At this point, we are unable to say exactly what we will have available, but we should have a good selection of bedding annuals, vegetables and hanging baskets to choose from.  Our planned opening will once again be the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend in May.  We look forward to being able to assist you with your plant needs.

Although our three main fundraisers are Christmas tree sales, fruit sales and our plant sale, our chapter also has great success in smaller fundraisers. We have great success within our fundraisers because of the community and supporters that our chapter has. Our chapter is thankful for everyone who chooses to support our fundraisers, which allows us to travel with very little out of pocket expense to events throughout the state.
