The Crook County FFA Chapter was involved in this year’s annual Prineville Chamber Christmas Parade. This event is a great way to showcase the program, and one that we have been participating in for several years now.
At first, we struggled with an idea of what we wished our float to look like. However, after a quick session with Mr. McNary, an idea was formed and we began to decorate our float. Our goal was to show a Christmas scene on our float, complete with a fire place, stockings, a tree lights and snow. However, since most of our members raise livestock, we opted to include some animals on our float. Riley Box and Daisy Forseth provided a goat and sheep respectively that they walked behind the float for much of the parade.
Many of our members and some of our friends rode the float while Mr. McNary and his wife drove. The trailer was a bit small, and with all the people on it, it was difficult to tell what all we had going on, but the parade was fun, and we enjoyed being a part of it. It was awesome seeing the community come to support all of the efforts that our chapter and all those in the community made to be part of this wonderful event. We look forward to it next year.
